Brilliant sewing ideas!

I was visiting Flossie Teacakes and found really cool sewing tips which just made my day. The first one is using A4 card, marked in 1/4" intervals, as a hemming guide instead of using pins all around the hemming area. I am not sure what the dimensions are for an A4 card. I am thinking an index card would do.

She also has a tip on top stitching when altering a pair of jeans. Like most petite people, I have to shorten my jeans. I didn't know how to get the factory hemmed look. Florence found out and she kindly posted on her blog. Use top stitching needle and top stitching thread on your regular sewing machine. See her revelations here. You will enjoy her humorous, good writing.

I love the ironing tip, Eunhwa! Being short & petite I have to shorten almost all jeans, trousers, etc. I figured out the top stitch thread & needle trick a couple years ago--what a more professional look it gives, especially to jeans! Off to go seem more about Flossie Teacakes--love that name! Happy Week :o) ((HUGS))

Hey,

Thank you for telling us about this! Unfortunately, I have the opposite and find jeans are often too short but my OH often finds jeans too long so he will be grateful too :D

I just wanted to let you know about a little comp I'm having to support my friends work. Its to win a piece of folk style art. I'd love for you to pop over and enter.

Thank you. x
